Good Evening and welcome to NewsFlash!
I'm Brian Peterson and this is the Motor City Super Headlines for tonight.
Motor City DA Trey Anderson has been caught in the news today with suspicion of taking bribes. While not serving time, local authorities are investigating a possible link between DA Anderson and Crimenet. When NewsFlash caught up to thhe DA, he had this to say:
"Not only am I offended at the accusations, but it should be noted that my office broke the case on Crimenet and have been working for weeks on uncovering this shadow organization! If people are so blind to not see this is a set up, then they deserve anything they have coming to them!"While not the most favorable, the DA has managed to gain some support in the police department, as well as support from Mayor Rock's office. In response, Paragon Power Solutions CEO Richard Ryker has asked for the public to take action against this corrupt official, appearing in three television commercials that call for such action. When NewsFlash attempted to contact Mr. Ryker, he refused comment, stating:
"I think my opinion is well versed on the subject." In other news, a local hotel desk clerk was found murdered outside of their work place in Thunder Row. According to witnesses on the seen, Gerald Bushey, 46, was found in the alley of The Grey Towers Motel & Apartments at 1:15am this morning. The scene was described as "gory, with a strange symbol written in blood on the wall near him". Police are investigating the murder and are warning the people of Thunder Row to be safe and stay inside after 8pm.
The Diesel District is safe tonight thanks to the young heroes Hype and Piston. Halting a major gang war between the Grease Monkeys and Motor Heads, these two heroes then turned towards the damage that was done, fixing most of it within a few hours. Great job, Heroes!
Lastly, NewsFlash turns to newly appointed Head of the Metahuman Task Force, Lt. Louise "Lou" Murphy. Between her raise and an attempt on her life, Lt. Murphy has remained in the media as the spearhead to gain support of local heroes. In an interview today, Lt. Murphy had this to say:
Quote:
Brian Peterson: "Thanks for being here today, Lieutenant. I understand you keep a busy schedule. Let me get right to the point. What exactly is the role of the MCPD MTF?"
Lou Murphy: "Thanks for having me Brian and, yes, it's a job that's kept me pretty busy and diligent these past few weeks. The role of the MTF is to work with the various heroes in the city and provide them with information in exchange for working within the laws of our fair city. While we prefer Licensed Heroes, we also can offer help to new heroes not understanding that process. I grew up in Motor City and have fond memories of the heroes we've had in the past. Now, their legacies need help ... and I encourage any and all heroes to come forward and let your presence be known. I know there are a few of you out there that I've spoke to, but give us a chance to work together and show you want the MTF can offer you in terms of support."
BP: "There's been a lot of hoopla around the new organization called Heroes, Inc. these days. Do you have an opinion on that?"
LM: "I do, and let me just say that, while the private sector might need the security, the city in general could use them more. What makes a hero is their dedication to law and justice, like The Justice Brigade or The Watch. The last thing we need are a bunch of half-cocked kids thinking that getting paid to endorse cola makes more sense than protecting the citizens of our city."
Harsh words from the current head of the MTF.
That's it for this week in Super Headlines. I'm Brian Peterson and, on behalf of all of us here at NewsFlash, have a great evening Motor City!
